Volunteers
Why we need Volunteers
West Clare Family Resource Centre was established and is managed by volunteers. While volunteers do not replace paid workers, as a community organisation we believe volunteers are at the core of the work of the Centre.
Volunteers allow the Centre to reach more people, put on more activities and ensure more people are included in the activities of the Centre.
Here at West Clare Family Resource Centre we know that people volunteer for different reasons, depending on what they are looking for from the experience and what, if anything, they hope to gain.
Volunteering allows you to:
- Develop new skills
- Gain work experience
- Develop and add to your C.V
- Build self confidence
- Get support form different agencies and people
- Get involved in local, regional and even national events/activities
- Get involved in training courses
- Meet new people
- Give something back to your community
Each volunteer brings particular skills, experience and needs to their role and in return for their commitment of time and energy they are entitled to expect a safe and supportive work environment.
Volunteering Opportunities
- Computer Classes

It is important to take time to consider the following:
- Think about the activity you are most interested in
- What are your particular skills?
- What time commitment can you give your volunteering interest?
- How far are you willing to travel?
If you are still unsure of what you would like to volunteer for, you can drop into the Centre and talk to any of our staff who would be more than happy to answer any of your questions or phone us on 065 905 2173.
